Escrow Policy

At Hire in Pakistan, we use an escrow system to ensure secure and transparent transactions between Clients and Freelancers. The escrow system holds payments until the Client confirms that the work is completed, ensuring fairness and accountability for both parties. By using Hire in Pakistan, you agree to abide by this Escrow Policy.

1. What is Escrow?

  • Escrow is a secure payment process where funds are held by Hire in Pakistan until project milestones or Gigs are marked as completed.
  • This ensures Clients only release payments when satisfied with the work and Freelancers are assured payment for completed work.

2. How Escrow Works

Freelancers on Hire in Pakistan can offer services through the following models:

A. Gigs

  • Client Pays Upfront – When a Client orders a Gig, the payment is immediately placed in escrow.
  • Freelancer Delivers Work – The Freelancer completes and submits the Gig.
  • Client Approves Completion – If satisfied, the Client marks the Gig as completed, and funds are released to the Freelancer.
  • Refund Request – If the Gig is not completed as agreed, the Client can request a refund before marking it completed (see Refund Policy).

Once the Gig is marked as completed, the payment is automatically released, and refunds are no longer possible.

B. For Tasks & Projects (Milestone-Based Payments)

  • Client Funds a Milestone – Payments for Tasks & Projects are made per milestone, and each milestone is placed in escrow.
  • Freelancer Works on the Milestone – The Freelancer begins work based on the agreed project terms.
  • Client Approves Completion – Once the milestone is completed, the Client marks it as completed, and funds are released to the Freelancer.
  • Refund Request – If the milestone is not completed as expected, the Client can request a refund before marking it completed (see Refund Policy).

Once a milestone is marked as completed, the payment is released, and refunds are no longer possible.

3. Escrow Rules & Protections

  • Client Protection: Funds remain secure in escrow until the Client confirms satisfaction with the work.
  • Freelancer Protection: Clients must pre-fund payments before work begins, ensuring Freelancers get paid once the work is completed.
  • Dispute Resolution: If disagreements arise, Clients and Freelancers can request Hire in Pakistan’s Dispute Resolution to review the case.
  • Secure Transactions: All escrow payments are processed via Stripe Payment Terminal, ensuring secure and encrypted transactions.

4. Releasing Payments from Escrow

  • For Gigs: Funds are released immediately when the Client marks the Gig as completed.
  • For Tasks & Projects: Funds are released immediately when a milestone is marked as completed.
  • No Delays: Payments are automatically processed once work is approved.

Clients cannot cancel or reverse payments once they have marked a Gig or milestone as completed.

5. Escrow Refunds

  • Refunds can only be requested before marking a Gig or milestone as completed.
  • If a refund is requested, Hire in Pakistan will review and resolve the case within 72 working hours.
  • Approved refunds are returned to the Client’s original payment method (credit/debit card).

For more details, refer to our Refund Policy.

6. Prohibited Activities

  • No External Payments – All payments must go through Hire in Pakistan’s escrow system. Payments made outside the platform are not protected and violate our Terms of Service.
  • No Partial Releases – Escrow payments are released only upon full completion of a Gig or milestone, unless agreed otherwise.
  • No Forced Refunds – Clients cannot demand refunds once they have marked a Gig or milestone as completed.

7. Escrow Policy Updates

Hire in Pakistan reserves the right to modify this Escrow Policy as needed. Clients and Freelancers will be notified of major changes via email or platform notifications.
